Oh the Airport… December 24, 2007

So the other day I took Britt to the airport so she could go to Tennessee for a few days and spend time with her family for Christmas.  She didn’t want to drive all by herself that far, and the flight was only about an hour.

Wellll, she was a teeny bit nervous, as she does not like flying that much.  She kept saying things about terrorist and watching some movie called red eye and how that could probably happen to her.  I reminded her she was flying on Skybus…for an hour!..to which she repsonded that terrorist would probably pick Skybus..you know, because they like to do unexpected things.

Anyways, I was trying to reassure her that she would in fact BE FINE, and decided to remind her of the time when I was on my way home from Peru..and missed my connecting flight in the Miami airport.  It truly was dreadful.  Not only had I just spent 14 hours in the Lima airport all night….by myself, but then I miss my flight in Miami because I was dickin’ around and thought I had “all the time in the world” to go through security.  Have you ever gone through security in the Miami airport? Yea, it’s not somethin’ you really wanna mess with.  So then I just sat there for like 20 minutes and had a meltdown because I had never missed a flight before and had no clue what to do, and my cell was dead, so that meant I had to find a payphone to call the parentals and inform them of my mishap…and the only thing I  could think of was how they would probably make me pay them something for missing my flight, and well, I was pretty much fresh outa money!

Long story short..I sat in a lot of lines..got yelled at by alot of mean people…was put on this thing called “standby” (aka, “you’re a loser”) alot…and finally made it home late that night!

I told Britt her one hour Skybus flight could not possibly be worse than that!
